2 Methods to Calculate Wedge Requirements
For standard 60×60cm tiles, you need approximately 7–8 reusable wedges per m². Unlike clips (which are disposable and left in place), wedges are removed after the adhesive sets and reused on the next job. This means your wedge requirement is based on how many tiles you can lay in one working session, not the total project area.

How to Calculate Exactly
- Count tiles per session. How many tiles do you lay in one working day? If you set 30 tiles of 60×60cm, that's roughly 10.7m².
- Multiply by wedge positions. Each tile needs 2–3 wedge positions (along edges). 30 tiles × 2.5 average = 75 wedges in play simultaneously.
- Add 20% buffer. Wedges get kicked, lost, or wear out. 75 × 1.2 = 90 wedges needed for a typical day's work.
