On a standard 120 × 100 cm Euro pallet, you can fit approximately 40-50 bags depending on stacking height. In a 20ft container (internal dimensions roughly 5.9 × 2.35 × 2.39 meters), you can load 10-12 pallets of clips — approximately 400-600 bags total. Wedges — Compact and Dense
Wedges are the most space-efficient product in the tile leveling line. A standard 100-piece bag of PE wedges measures approximately 20 × 15 × 5 cm and weighs only 0.15 kg. This compact form factor means you can fit more bags per pallet — roughly 60-80 bags on a standard pallet. In a 20ft container, wedges alone would fill 500-700 bags across 10-12 pallets. But here is the practical problem: 700 bags of wedges weigh just 105 kg total. You are paying for a full container but using only a fraction of its weight capacity. This is why pure-wedge containers almost never make economic sense. Wedges should always be part of a mixed load.
Mixed Products — The Combo That Maximizes Container Space
A container loaded with only one product type wastes either volume or weight capacity. The most efficient configuration we see across hundreds of shipments: approximately 50% clips (volume-heavy, weight-light), 25% wedges (compact, weight-light), 15% spacers (small boxes, medium density), and 10% pliers or reusable levelers (heavy, compact). Why Combo Orders Always Beat Single-Product Containers
The Space-Utilization Problem Nobody Thinks About Until It's Too Late
A 20ft container has approximately 33 cubic meters of cargo space. A single bag of clips occupies roughly 0.009 cubic meters (25×25×15 cm). In theory, you could fit 3,600+ bags. In practice, pallets, air gaps, load distribution requirements, and bag deformation under stacking pressure reduce that to 400-600 bags. The "lost" space is not lost — it is occupied by the structural reality of shipping. Single-product containers amplify this problem because every bag has identical dimensions and the gaps between pallets repeat identically across the container. Mixed products of different sizes fill those gaps naturally — wedges fit between clip pallets, spacer boxes nest next to plier cartons. The per-unit freight cost drops because you are paying for the container once and filling it more completely.

The Saudi configuration carries fewer total bags because Spin Doctor systems and reusable levelers have bulkier packaging (sets with caps + bases + screws require more packaging volume per unit). The Per-Bag Freight Crossover Point
A 20ft container from Ningbo to Los Angeles costs approximately $2,800-3,500 in ocean freight. A 40ft HQ costs approximately $3,800-5,000. On the surface, 20ft is cheaper. But the math changes when you calculate per-bag freight:
- 20ft with 500 bags: $3,000 ÷ 500 = $6.00 per bag
- 40ft HQ with 1,200 bags: $4,200 ÷ 1,200 = $3.50 per bag
The 40ft container costs $1,200 more in absolute freight but saves you $2.50 per bag. On a 1,200-bag order, that is $3,000 in total freight savings — more than the container price difference. A 20ft container that ships with 350 bags instead of 500 does not save money — it wastes it. The ocean freight is the same whether the container is full or half-full. Under-loading a 20ft container by 30% increases the per-bag freight cost from $6.00 to $8.57 — a 43% increase on the freight line item alone, for the same door-to-door transit time. If your monthly sales volume cannot fill a container, use LCL until it can. How Pallets Survive 30 Days at Sea
The Right Stacking Pattern
Tile leveling products are not fragile — polypropylene and polyethylene can handle stacking pressure. The vulnerability is not the product but the packaging. A bag stacked incorrectly shifts during rough seas, the bag tears, clips spill into the container, and the receiver opens the doors to a mess. We stack bags flat, not vertical, with alternating layers rotated 90 degrees to distribute weight evenly. Each pallet is limited to 1.2 meters total height including the pallet itself — this fits two-high stacking in a standard container without exceeding the container's door height.
Shrink-Wrap vs Strapping — Why We Use Both
Shrink-wrap alone secures a pallet for truck transport. It does not secure a pallet for 30 days of ocean swell, container ship vibration, and multiple handling transfers (factory forklift → port crane → vessel → destination crane → warehouse forklift). We use both shrink-wrap and polypropylene strapping on every pallet. The shrink-wrap protects against dust and moisture. The strapping prevents load shift under lateral movement. Combined material cost is roughly $3 per pallet. A damaged shipment costs thousands in lost product and weeks of replacement lead time.
Why We Photograph Every Pallet Before Loading

First, they are your proof that the correct products, in the correct quantities, with the correct packaging, were loaded into your container.
