Container FAQ
The five questions every importer asks before their first container.
How many bags of tile leveling clips fit in a 20ft container?
A 20ft container holds approximately 15,000+ bags (260-280 cartons, 60 bags/carton, 33 m³). Each carton is 58×43×43 cm and holds 60 product bags. Use the calculator above to test your specific product combination.
What product mix gives the best margin for a 40ft container?
The recommended first-order mix is 50% 1.5mm clips + 25% 2.0mm clips + 15% wedges + 10% spacers and reusable items. This balances volume utilization with margin optimization. Adjust on reorder based on what sells fastest in your market.
Can I ship a partial container (LCL)?
Yes. LCL (Less than Container Load) is available for trial orders. For a 20ft FCL container, the minimum economic load is 15,000+ bags. For smaller quantities, LCL (Less than Container Load) is available from 500 bags. Below 200 bags, express courier (DHL/FedEx) is usually more cost-effective.
How much does it cost to ship a container of tile tools?
20ft container freight: $2,000-3,500 depending on destination (USA ~$2,800-3,500, Europe ~$2,500-3,000, Middle East ~$2,000-2,800). 40ft HQ: $3,800-5,000. At 15,000+ bags per 20ft, per-bag freight is $0.13-0.23. 40ft HQ drops per-bag freight to $0.10-0.14 — roughly 30-40% less per unit.
What incoterm should I choose for my first container order?
FOB Ningbo is recommended for first-time importers — we handle production, inland trucking to port, and export customs. You arrange ocean freight and import clearance. CIF is available if you prefer a single predictable cost including freight and insurance. For 15,000+ bag container orders, the freight cost per bag is minimal.
