Why Large Format Tile Fails in the Middle

A 120×240 porcelain panel is fired at high heat and bows slightly, then the centre sinks as it cools. Lay it on a bed of mortar and the middle sags below the level you set at the edges — “centre lippage”, invisible in the box, obvious once the light hits the finished floor.
